This piece is an improvisation I did with an amazing singer I’ve recently been working with named Kasumi. She is a wonderful jazz vocalist, and here we had a lot of fun doing some improvising together. There was a beautiful photograph sitting on the piano when we did this and we were both receiving a lot of inspiration from it.. Thank you for listening

So after 5 and a half years in Oakland I am moving east to New York city. It has always been a dream of mine to live and create in New York, and I am excited to be there soon. But as we have all learned, it is hard to leave a place.. especially one you love. Oakland has taught me, has listened to me, has shared with me the truth of life. And the sorrow of leaving combined with the joy of having been here creates many harmonies. Here is what came out when i sat down and thought of all of you and all of Oakland and all of everything. Thank you all so much for being exactly who you are. To the Bay Area family, I will miss every one of you and you will be in my thoughts, my music and my heart.. To the New York family, I am excited and humbled by the future and be prepared for some down home Oakland Love!!

So, I had to post this little ditty. The Shake Weight is a new exercise device thats getting a lot of attention, mainly due to their hilarious commercials. They are looking for a song to use in their upcoming ad campaign, so this is what we put together… get ready to shake…

I recorded this song a few years ago on a beautiful Steinway grand piano in Colorado Springs at my alma mater, Colorado College. This was one of the pieces on the first album I ever put together of my own original compositions. The album was titled “Most of it” and I hope one day I can release a new version of it.. Enjoy, “I Lost My Wallet”… it’s a true story..
