Bochan – Chnam Oun 16

Here’s the video for the 2nd single I produced for Bochan.  The message and feeling of the song are conveyed so beautifully in this video, it honestly gives me the chills every time I watch it.  Thank you Bochan, Yvan and everyone who worked so hard to make this incredible video.

Pianosaturdaynight

I realize the above word looks like it could be a dinosaur’s name, but it’s what came to mind as I wrote this song tonight.  This is how I write, first a melody, the right hand leads the way and as I work to involve the left, things change… Then the piece itself displays where to go next, like a plant asking for water, and I listen.  There are many aspects of this song to be worked out, but I wanted to post something unfinished, something with all the unintentional moments that are frequently described as mistakes.  I like those moments, I think that’s where the truth appears and its up to us to figure it out…

a taste…

…I’ve been back on the west coast for a couple weeks and I wanted to post a little sample of a track I recorded yesterday.  The song will be a collaboration with Bochan and Unity, but for now its just piano.  Have a listen and feel free to post any thoughts or inspirations…

Hold, Music

Recently, I became involved in a new theater production titled, “Hold, Music”.  This play is going to be amazing.  It has been fascinating watching all the elements come together from staging and set design to choreography and singing.  The theater company creating it, Pegleg Productions, has produced a lot of outstanding work, I am so honored to work with them.  The show opens March 12th and runs till March 28th at the Living Theater in Manhattan, it is part of a festival produced by the Culture Project.  The song you are hearing is for a reflective and peaceful moment near the end of the show.  If you’re in the New York area this March come and check it out.
Also Happy Presidents Day (and for the Canadian folks Happy Family Day!!)

the TV jam

Here’s a little track I made with help from my friends Narcisse, they laid down a hot drum track and some killer bass!!(thanks guys)… The song was written with the intention of being the opening song for a tv, it’s supposed to sound a little like Ben Folds Five.  I wont tell you which show, but it does feature Sir William Shatner…

Enjoy!! and more to come soon…
